The Disneyland Resort announced in a recent press release that their holiday season would begin November 10, 2017 and continue through January 7, 2018. Disneyland will be decorated and transformed to create an amazing winter wonderland for guests to celebrate the holiday season.
In Disneyland, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle will be a breathtaking vision of twinkling lights and shimmering icicles when it becomes Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. This and the 60-foot Christmas Tree (which is also returning) are my absolute favorite parts of the Disneyland holiday season. They have been a mainstay of our family’s holiday memories, and we take as many pictures around them as we can.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday will also be returning. My children like the Holiday haunted mansion more than the classic theme because they think it’s less scary. Princess Pony enjoys watching the Nightmare Before Christmas so it’s a treat for her to see Jack Skellington, Oogey Boogey, and Sally on the ride.
“A Christmas Fantasy” Parade will also return. My children loved this parade last time we visited. They loved watching the floats, listening to the music, and waving at Santa Clause.
In Disney California Adventure, the Festival of Holidays will be returning. We were there last year for the Festival and I’ll admit to not being overly interested. I passed by it on my way to the rides which were overwhelmingly busy at the time. I am glad it’s returning, but I hope that it will come back the following year when, hopefully, I’ll be able to go during the holidays!
Also, according to Disney, coming to California Adventure, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will be decorated and changed into Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will be Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. I am excited by this news, but a little sad that I won’t be able to attend this year! We will be visiting after the festivities end, but I can’t wait to see the pictures as everyone visits! If you go to Disneyland Resort this holiday season and post pictures on Instagram, please tag me! I’d love to see it all!!
Disney’s World of Color will become “World of Color” – Season of Light – a must-see for the kids! We like to get the dinner and ticket package or run to the fast pass box at the rope drop to get our Fast Passes for this and get great views!
